Gathering of Nations — case study film

Ecamm wanted to tell the story of a customer running enormous live productions. The subject was in one state, the event was in another, and none of the footage existed yet.

I shaped the concept — what the film would say, and how it would be told. Then I interviewed the talent remotely through Ecamm Live, framed, lit and recorded locally, so the edit was never at the mercy of anyone’s connection. The b-roll is mine as well: I was on site at Gathering of Nations as the photographer and videographer, shooting the footage the film is cut from.

I cut the two together into a documentary-style piece, and handed Ecamm the vision they built their landing page around. It runs there as a published customer story.

Direction, interview, b-roll, edit. One person.

What this took

The 34-hour live production of Gathering of Nations was Paul Gowder’s team at PowWows.com. My work here is the film about it.
